If you don’t want to add the 24v booster box simply use a regular e-match instead of the resistor. That way ignition on the dual fill lines is near the same and you don’t have to worry about one taking… Read more»

Doug,Find me at Oktoberfest before you get ready to go out to the pad. I’ve got a nice fitting that makes it *way* easier to connect to the GSE and is much more user friendly. Does the Contrail require 24V?… Read more»

I’ll be there and currently the only resident experts on the Hybrid GSE are Dale Netherton, myself and possibly Ed Wranosky. I’m more of a Hypertek guy myself, but I know which hoses go where and which wires plug in… Read more»

If the comparison is between your typical Home Depot grade of threaded rod and standard McMaster threaded rod, I think you’ll find a significant difference. Your average hardware store stuff is almost 100% made in China with very poor quality… Read more»

Yes, the higher the grade is stronger the steel. However, it is not necessarily true that stainless steel is stronger than regular steel. The impurities that are put into steel to make it stainless are to help fight corrosion for… Read more»

I like to use stainless when ever I can. it is stronger and I have found that the threads stretch on the regular stuff.

I’ll definitely be there, though my L2 has been delayed due to excessive homework. It’s basically structurally complete, but recovery is still unfinished, as is paint. It’ll be ready for oktoberfest. I’ll bring the rocket to the launch anyways though… Read more»
