The best one I’ve used is the DeWalt 12″ compound sliding mitre saw. I’ve built numerous houses with one and it doesn’t bat an eyelash. The only saw that I’ve used that is better is a German made radial arm… Read more»

I think airstarts are definitely not a problem. It’s the ground starts that scare the crap out of me. If you’re high enough that the sparklies of the lovely titanium chips don’t hit the ground, I’d say it was good… Read more»

I can totally understand the fire danger. Would this still be in effect if the motors are being lit 1-2k feet up, or is it “across the board”? I’ve also heard that the titanium flake in the G-H skids is… Read more»

Do keep in mind that unless it rains in the days leading to O’fest or during O’fest, Skids are not that likely to be OK to fly. After the last fire, Joe and I had a discussion where as a… Read more»

My preliminary designs on Rocksim are very comfortably in the range of the current world record.WWhile this surely looks like an intriguing motor, I have been unable to get it to sim over 21K. I’m finding the optimal mass to… Read more»

I’m thinking a kick-ass boost to get some mass moving past mach followed by some sustaining burn to keep the momentum burning and that mass to keep it coasting. My preliminary designs on Rocksim are very comfortably in the range… Read more»

This is indeed make for some interesting tradeoffs. Tim T indicated there was another load coming that would have two big advantages – more NS, and a longer burn. Both of those variables would be welcome!

Damn John… I bet you could do something about that K record with something like this. I bet the ticket is going to be optimizing weight. Put a little mass in there, make it short as possible so probably a… Read more»

The K590 was what I was referring to. I meant to insert THIS link http://www.rocketryplanet.com/content/view/2557/28/Tim, the extra burn time and extra NS are going to be very cool!JW
