The other post. Both by Ken Biba.I posted this in another discussion relating to competition measurement of altitude – particularly for TRA records that are now being set above 40k’ MSL. It argues that hobby barometric altimeter systems currently available… Read more»

8) The Pro 75 3gr. is around 19 1/2 in. long and the loads are the L800 classic and L1720 White Thunder. Both at 190.00 Mark L. launched his L1115 last month, awsome power and burntime! I think that the… Read more»

And Aerotech’s 75mm 3840 case is 20.39 inches overall length and holds the L850W (3840 NS) or L1150R (3560NS).Doug

Warren, there are some TERRIFIC AMW motors in the 75mm/3500NS casing. The casing is 19.60″ long and they have all six propellants for that casing….

Make mine an L1115 8) http://www.pro38.com/motor/L1115.html A few more newts and over twice the burn time. Same casing, if I am not mistaken. The link above shows the certification has expired, might be worth checking on that?JW

JW, I can see why you asked about it. Won’t take much to get to 20k with it. Ed made the .eng file for me, and the L2375 will take this relatively big rocket higher than my L3 by about… Read more»

Bruce, I don’t know that motor – is it 75mm?I don’t know if it’s certifed yet; it’s a “new” Cesaroni, 75mm. Here’s the link Tim sent me: http://www.pro38.com/motor/L2375.htmlI'm going to use it to shakedown the Crimson Comet, before it’s painted…. Read more»

Do you have a plot of the thrust, or the data points? If so, send me a copy and I can whip up the eng file.

I don’t know the full story, just have seen posts specifically pointing out Robert’s altimeters as being unsuitable for any Tripoli altitudes due to a lack of temp compensation. I have been under the impression that Missileworks and Perfectflight altimeters… Read more»

Post-processing data offboard is almost certainly a non-starter for most flyers.I think 10% accuracy and a successful deployment is fine for most flyers. But if you’re filling out a record form to Tripoli, then A) you’re already not “most flyers”… Read more»

I hate to keep disagreeing, but hopefully I can do it without being disagreeable:Measuring delta-pressure with 1%-2% accuracy is very do-able with today’s altimeters without any price increase.A 0.5% accuracy pressure reference gauge with a calibration to a 0.025% NIST-traceable… Read more»

The baro sensor sensor would put out good data, but it wouldn’t get recorded because the Parrot uses the accel to detect the launch. Either end up is fine (new feature) but sideways wouldn’t work. How many Gs are you… Read more»
