Greg, John is an excellent resource for radio tracking. John has flown many min diameter rockets and I believe has the best record finding them with trackers as well. He is your guy.

Most Adept transmitters are mounted in the nosecone. A 38mm 5:1 conical will hold one nicely 😀 there is some interesting geometry when you get into the 29mm stuff. I can show you a typical mounting at MHM.JW

If the antenna is housed in the nose cone, will it effect the transmission strength drastically?I have to admit here, I do not know what the Faraday shield is. My HAM experience is with 2m used in off road communications…. Read more»

Not silly at all, Mule. The MWC mini has no ground plane to shield it. Keep the TX and altimeter as far from each other as you can. Arm everything as it will fly, and TEST before you fly! Worst… Read more»

We just watched “2010” again last week. I liked that a lot more than “2001”. Roy Scheider, John Lithgow… great cast. Highly recommended! I was pleasantly surprised at how well the movie aged.

I think the best space museum out west is probably the one in Alamogordo, New Mexico… Their website is so bizarre in that it shows very few pix of the “rocket garden”. They have a V2, just as it fell… Read more»

Man, what I wouldn’t give to be sealed up in it for a while with power on… I was really expecting some NCR members to come forward, saying they’d gladly seal me up in a Mercury capsule!
