Doubtful for me. The UprOar is history and my new large project is still in the design and planning stages as well as looking for others to join the team. I also figure it’s wise for me to finish my… Read more»

OK, so it’s probably sized by OD. That goes well with mailing tubes. I’ll try it and see.Ken

I don’t have any airframe, just the nose cone. If memory serves me, the North Coast airframe is about the same size as standard 3″ LOC coupler tubing.Art

Art,What’s the ID/OD of the North Coast 3″ tubing? I know I had to kludge the diameters for the mailing tube used in the HPSD. I might want the cone. Thanks,Ken

Art, I just stopped by Hobbytown, but apparently you haven’t dropped off the tube yet. I’m gone for a little over a week – leave Tuesday. We’ll catch up after that.Warren

If you are trying to use the fiberglass with paper or some phenolics then you will run into different tolerances. As far as the GLR nose cone goes… It is designed to fit phenolic and filament wound (Hawk Mountain) airframes,… Read more»

Anyone know how the fit would be on a GLR “Pinnacle” 3″ nose with the PR tubing? I want a long and pointy nose! 🙂 Just like HPSD.Ken

I’ve used PR cones in PML tubes, and they have been a slightly tight fit, but otherwise fine…

In talking with Warren, I’ve found that PR is fairly nonstandard diameter and only fits PR components. Is this true? If so, I’ll pass the tubing deal onto someone who could make better use of it. I was just thinking… Read more»

How about $20 for the 3″ airframe and the nose cone is yours too.Art

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "Performance Rocketry 3” & 4” Tubing" – 6 years, 10 months ago
Yeah, it’s expensive, but I don’t need it immediately, and the cost of an extra 2 feet of tube is the least of my worries, so since Warren needs it, he can have it.

Hate to bring this up… but at last check PR 4″ tubing is $18/foot and 3″ tubing $16/foot. Learned that from pricing my next bird, which will be with PR G10 fiberglass, 4″. Probably buy a kit, Concept 98, to… Read more»

I too could use the 4″ piece, but I need a chunk like that plus another 4 or 5 feet, so go ahead Warren (since I would need to order some anyways).

If you’ve got an immediate need, Warren, go for it. I don’t have a lot of spare time beyond fixing what I’ve got right now.Ken

I could actually use the 4″ piece immediately for an existing PF project I’m working on and want to finish by Oktoberfest. I don’t need the 3″.Warren
