All of these sound great but the company is originated in Canada. So getting them will be a rough time, with the BATFE and all of them.I think Tim can get them in bulk, so they all go through together–right,… Read more»

That is a great way to seal a charge (Blu-Tack). I use something very similar that I got at Home Depot (IIRC) that is used to stick posters to walls. For charges, I use LOC 1/2″ launch lugs cut to random… Read more»

I would think that should be fine. Not sure what our longest 3/16″ rod is but I think your rocket will be much happier on it.

Warren B. Musselman replied to the topic "launch rod lenghts" – 6 years, 10 months ago
We have a little Blacksky rail that should work for that. Maybe 3/4″ at the biggest and possibly smaller.Warren

Warren, what are the dimsions of the rails? I have a 2x upscale corona I’d like to fly, but i have about 1″ of clearance between the ring and the body tube. I used 3/8″ lugs. I don’t think I… Read more»

If it weighs more than a pound, you have no business flying it off a rod. Rail guidea and rails are the way to go. While NCR does maintain a nice selection of rods from the smallest 1/8″ rods up… Read more»

Not saying it can’t be done, but 1/8″ rods are kinda like soggy noodles. Heck I don’t like flying my Lil’Nuke off our 1/4″ rods. Just my opinion, but I just can’t even imagine the rod whip you’d get out… Read more»

I’ve flown Apogee F10’s off 3′ and 4′ 1/8″ rods with no problem. The only problem I’ve ever had is getting them to light.Warren

Normally I’d agree, but that motor is a relatively low thrust F…It’s roughly equivalent to a D12 as far as initial kick goes.

Bret Packard replied to the topic "launch rod lenghts" – 6 years, 10 months ago
Not to be critical but you probably shouldn’t be flying an F motor from an 1/8″ rod anyway.

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "launch rod lenghts" – 6 years, 10 months ago
Only a 1/8″ rod?I don’t think we have one that long…On the other hand, that motor has quite a thrust spike – are you sure you need that much rod? I wouldn’t think it would take that much with that… Read more»
