Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "2x upscale corona question" – 6 years, 10 months ago
Yeah, that is pushing it a bit.In that case, I’d go for a 3/8″ rod. I’ve flown up to a hard hitting I motor off that, and I would probably trust a J. It should work fine for that rocket,… Read more»

I’m using a 38mm mmt. I don’t think ther will be enough room for the rail between the ring and the body tube. The ring is 4″ in dia and the body is 2.1″ in dia.

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "2x upscale corona question" – 6 years, 10 months ago
Why does it prevent the use of rail buttons? Is it too small for the rail to go between the body tube and the ring fin?If so, what size motor mount are you using? This is how I would determine whether… Read more»

If it is possible, can you glue one end into a section of body tube? If you block the other end for the charge then you have an opening in the side of the coupler tube to slide the electronics… Read more»

I understand. Thanks

Chris LaPanse replied to the topic "29mm cluster" – 6 years, 10 months ago
You want them to be in parallel actually…If they are in series, when one goes, it breaks the circuit. This results in you having a very bad day.
-
Doug Gerrard replied to the topic "29mm cluster" – 6 years, 10 months ago
No, don’t do them in series. You should bring one wire from each igniter and twist them together, then do the same with the other wires. That way they are in parallel and you can use the same set of… Read more»

I did my L2 with dual deploy and redundant altimeters, charges and e-matches. I wanted to make sure I could do it before I started spending money on an L3 project.Warren

In my personal experience, I wish I’d done my L2 with DD. NAR doesn’t require it; don’t know about TRA. Ground testing is the key. You WILL have to get the hang of it at some time. Do it as… Read more»

Spiltting a rocket apart at Apogee might be called Seperation Anxiety. Both parts would need to have recovery devices attached per Safety Codes and a benefit is then watching two objects defy gravity, for awhile anyway, and a drawback would… Read more»
