or do what I did, not lead, but environmentally friendly cat litter. The 6 inch ogive took a kg in the first 7 or 8 inches. Epoxied it in, then foamed, and still have a 4″ by 12″ payload tube… Read more»

Its been a while but the last time I bought it I just want the a local gun store. You can but a 10 pound bag of lead shot used for loading shotgun shells. It pours very easily.Doug

I typically cut Kevlar with an Exacto knife. Pull it tight across the blade, and it is fine. I have one blade that I’ve used to cut Kevlar many times. I change the blade when necessary, but it is amazing… Read more»

Try using CA where you want to cut it. Let it completely cure then use wire cutters.Doug

No kidding – I don’t have the shears, and have completely given up as to cutting it, I just make sure I order it precut in the lengths I need.That stuff is impossible…Sometime, I’ll have to get the shears…

I have some scraps of 1/2 flat kevlar–let me know where to send it,JAlso give me an exact length as you won’t want to cut it w/o the right shears.J

I have used 1/2″ tubular kevlar as a piston strap before with great success (you need to widen the slot a little though). It’s availible from Giant LeapAlso, I believe Hawk Mountain has some strap kevlar.As for scraps – sorry… Read more»

I use pistons when I can as well, though usually not in the smaller diameter stuff. They work great 🙂

All my serious scratch built birds up to 4″ have pistons. Of course my PML kits have pistons as well, but not the other ones.Warren
