Tim,
With all the AMW/Cesaroni Pro-X sale and ensuing confusion, will you have Pro38 loads for sale at Oktoberfest? Granted the sale prices are great, but I'd rather keep you in business. Since I don't have a LEUP, I can't order anyway.
I'll be needing 3 H143 (2-grain Smokey) loads and something 38 in Aerotech (but you always seem to have a huge assortment there).
Thanks,
Ken
8) Well here is the skinny at this time. Paul R. who is the owner of AMW,has started a new company, ProXAMW. It is no more than the CTI line with a new sticker on the tubes. It simply his own lable. All of the loads are property of CTI. Giant Leap will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER sell Pro X/AMW loads. Paul is in direct compatition with his dealers who sell CTI products. We will continue to sell the AMW 54-98 line at this time, but as you might see, this has caused a great deal of hard feelings. Things my not be repairable. We are taking a 'wait-and-see" position at this time. One of the fun parts about rocketry is, that things always change. 😆
Tim, sorry if I'm not seeing the problem... Paul is selling old style AMW cases and re-labeling or making CTI-compatible cases. Last I heard all Paul's propellant is made by CTI so whether it's for an old-style AMW case or whether you stick it in a CTI case or a ProXAMW case or buy the propellant with a CTI label or an AMW label, what's the difference? You've got "maybe" 2 hardware manufacturers and a single propellant manufacturer regardless of the label. What you do get is a much wider variety of loads from a single, incredibly professional and cutting edge manufacturer.
If you're a dealer, while the margins may vary depending on the label, in the end the money is going to the same upstream manufacturer and the loads aren't the same as far as I can see. Dealers would be smart to carry both brands unless one or the other "manufacturer" is trying to screw you - the market will shake it out based on pricing and service given that regardless of the label, the products promise to be high quality.

I'm totally confused. I thought they merged specifically so they could make there stuff cross compatible.
Tim, correct me if I am wrong. I think you have 1 company making propellant for 2 companies. You have to different kinds of hardware and reloads, AMW snap-ring style and then you have the CTI threaded style 38-54. In the 38-54 threaded hardware CTI is making AMW/ProX loads for Paul and they are also making their loads under CTI (same hardware different label). I am not real clear on the 54-98 but I believe they are making loads for the AMW snap-ring hardware but not sure if they are making AMW loads for the CTI hardware but if not, they may at some point.
Right now Paul is the exclusive distributor of the AMW/ProX but I think that may change after a period of time. I think that is the wait and see thing Tim was talking about. All the sales are through him, no one can compete with the manufacture/distributor to bet his price or even match it and stay in business. It will be interesting to see were everything goes once thing settle down.
Well, at the rate things are going, he's not going to last. Jeremiah and I ordered 4 cases back in the middle of August during the intro sale. 1, 3, 5 & 6G ProX 38 cases. Other than the 3 line response I got when I emailed him 2 weeks ago, I've heard nothing.
I went with the ProX equipment after seeing how easy the CTI stuff was to use at the July research launch. At this rate I'm not going to get my cases or be able to buy reloads. 🙁
