This will be interesting http://www.pro38.com/products/pro54/motor.php
Check out the thrust curve. I've certainly never seen anything like THAT.
This is pretty much a full K. I wonder how it will do in a smallish rocket? 300# of thrust in a heartbeat, tailing off immediately to a few seconds of 100#. That is enough to lift a 60# rocket 😯
8) This one is only the first one in a full line of 54's. The next will be a FULL K, made to fit the 54/6XL case. The same thrust but with 2.5 seconds more of the lower thrust. I should have both the 6 gr. and 6xl in stock by Oct. 8)
The K590 was what I was referring to. I meant to insert THIS link http://www.rocketryplanet.com/content/view/2557/28/
Tim, the extra burn time and extra NS are going to be very cool!

Damn John... I bet you could do something about that K record with something like this. I bet the ticket is going to be optimizing weight. Put a little mass in there, make it short as possible so probably a substantial amount of nose weight... and you might just kick some serious booty. Guess I know what I'm playing with in Rocksim tonight.

This is indeed make for some interesting tradeoffs. Tim T indicated there was another load coming that would have two big advantages - more NS, and a longer burn. Both of those variables would be welcome!
I'm thinking a kick-ass boost to get some mass moving past mach followed by some sustaining burn to keep the momentum burning and that mass to keep it coasting. My preliminary designs on Rocksim are very comfortably in the range of the current world record. I know you could do something with that.

While this surely looks like an intriguing motor, I have been unable to get it to sim over 21K. I'm finding the optimal mass to be ~44 oz, with a peak velocity just under M2.
The next rev of this load (more NS, less punch early, longer burn time in the lower part of the curve) sounds like the motor to go with. I'm so glad to see some add'l full "K" motors-
And I thought "Special K" was just a breakfast cereal. Yehaw!!!
"Special K" was the name of my L2 🙂
I stand corrected John. I'm at 53" and 1400gr and just tickling 20K. I must have been a bit overexcited yesterday.
