I don't think we need to spend lots of money and time on fire protection. That's not our job. Pros do that. We pay taxes and fees for it.
Except we don't pay taxes in the Nunn fire district for the volunteer firefighters who showed up to help. Additionally, USFS national grasslands are notoriously short-handed (no trees to sell).
Bingo....
That's why we need to send them Thank You letters on a one on one basis.
Please pass this address along to other members you know aren't on the board. They are the ones that showed up first to take over, the second group was from the Ft. Collins Wildfire agency. This is the web page for the call center, I don' know who we would contact though.

I got'ta second what Greg has suggested. Personal notes, in this case, will probably carry a lot more weight than a quasi official note from me on behalf of our members. Thank you notes go a long way in smoothing rough edges. I'm not opposed to sending notes on behalf of our members - I do regularly to raffle prize donators, the FAA officials, out reach contacts, etc. But for this incident, I strongly believe that the more thank you notes the better. Everyone that helped from our side should let the others know what they do 24/7 365 is greatly appreciated.
Picked up a card, what sort of dollar amount should we send?
David
I personally am just sending a card.
