Long story, but, single use 29 housings..... For couplers. I also have a 38mm fore enclosure to give back to Tim. I am told that John has access to mis-run PVC tubing that I can get. I have several 29 and 38 min diam projects in the works but am taking a beating on getting parts....
I may by some slim chance have a 38mm bird to launch if I can verify the numbers on my grains and get the thumbs up from my "Instructor":P ..... And probably my first dual deploy - this is all if I can get the wife to let me out of a bathroom remodel.
The hell with that Bathroom, who weres the pants over there anyway!
Besides, Im running out of Rockets to launch. I need some one to help me track my Dart for the SSSS. Its the last High Power Rocket I have in Flyable condition without doing major repairs.
If I grovel with you, will she let you go????? 😕
As I understood it from last ex-launch you could be sponsored by a level 2
and fly???????
But not to cert L1 😯 The problem is your guest -- if he has someone else sponsor his flight -- didn't really fly it himself. Splitting hairs, perhaps - but all flyers have to be L2 or higher.
It isn't a function of the club being uptight. It is a function of the insurance. You can L3 at a research launch, but you cannot L1 or L2 because you must be L2 to fly in the first place....

Thanks
FYI I plan on attending on Saturday to do photos, so I will see you all up there.

... Commercial and 'research' motors approved for flight except black-powderd based motors...
It would be nice if L2's could fly ANY kind of motor, including black powder. In my case I'm trying to get some set duration test flights before going to NARAM-50 the weekend later, but am having to dodge Cessna's by flying here in Louisville at the HS. (lost two rockets so far to thermals... sigh...I laways seem to find them when I DON'T want them).
Clearly Experimental BP motors are disallowed, but maybe commercial BP motors are o.k?
Mike,
For local LPR needs, you should check out the field in Longmont, by the Sandstone Ranch ballfields complex. Let me know and I can send you a liability waiver form to keep the property owner happy. Lots of space, and nice soft plowed dirt. Probably some tall weeds right now.
Ken
No BP motors. The Estes pads will not be set up this time around. As JW said, it is for insurance reasons. If you were planning on flying Estes or BP motors then they will have to wait.
Even if you don't have anything to fly, come out and watch, lots of big shots will fly this weekend.

Murdock, I sent you a PM. You may wish to camp out, or at least stay lat Saturday night if you want to see some movies of rockets.

really, what have you got going Art?

Mike,
Our Church has 20 acres - long track in Broomfield off 144th and Zuni. Jeremiah and I launch there from time to time. You are welcome to use it. We have lost a few birds, but that was due to too large of a chute and the owner not knowing better. We have hosted an all Church launch and it works really well for about everything. I've done around 1100' on an E9-6 in an Eliminator.
(Imagine the big announcer voice)
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY
BIG LAUNCHES ALL DAY LONG, DON'T MISS IT.....
TOP SECRET SPY SATELLITE LAUNCHED (ok so I made that one up).
Well, I'll be there anyway, not that that's too exciting. 😛

Well, I'm there. Art, make some room in the camper! I'll bring my Gray Ghost so I can get a consensus on the fins.

That would be great, please send it to me and some directions on how to get there. How do I give it to the farmer?
As much as I regret it, 🙁 as I want to see John Wilkes' bird fly, I just have too much to do to get ready for NARAM-50 to take the time to go up to Pawnee.
I just found out that I'm showing 5th overall (out of 217) in the NAR national point standings in the C division. Russ Anthony from CRASH is in 2nd overall. He says if I do well at nationals I could end up at least 4th for the year. That what I was as a 13 year old in 1960 after NARAM-3. How cool would that be? 😀
In the club points standings, NCR is currently 17th out of 40 clubs. Again, If I do well that should move us up in the overall as well. Yay!

VERY nice work, Mike! 😉 Still can't believe those Louisville thermals... 😯
So are a lot of people camping out? I thought I had since a post/article about whats available at the location, but now I can't find it. Could someone point me in the right direction?
I might end up staying overnight at least.
Murdock
Doug is at my house tonight, he and I will be heading out in the morning to start set up. We will be camping Friday night, Saturday night, and even Sunday night. Many others will be camping as well, come on out!
