For those of us who fly almost exclusively with the club, I don't see how this ruling affects us that much, as Tim is at nearly every launch. Those rare occasions, it would be nice to have a small stock on hand, but I'd rather not store a bunch if I don't have to.
As long as his stock stays where it's at, or better, I see no reason to go elsewhere, unless I get some wild hair to fly something he doesn't carry (though I can't think just yet what that'd be?)
Heck, the decreased regulations should help Tim out, at least easing the paperwork burden slightly.

Okay - the latest authorized release of information from TRA/NAR has been posted as a front page story. It's still good news in my book and I am not going to waste any energy thinking about the what if's and all of the other possibilities that might or might not happen. I've waited this long for resolution and can certainly wait some more. When it is all said and done, I'll still be out there flying my rockets and doing so safely.
Ken,
It makes a difference to those who make their own motors, make motors for others, travel out of state or want to buy big motors that aren't used much.
Patience grasshoppers - nothing with the gubbment is simple or fast. 😆
Yup, forgot about the home-brewed motors. Should be quite a help to those pursuing the dark art.
It's on my list, but way out there right now. 1st employment, 2nd L2, then ...

there are other complications and rules and reg that many may not remember, know about or see, DOT regulations are still unaffected by these changes as is the NAR/TRA rules and then you also have to look at the other items used in the hobby that are still regulated. Nothing has changed right now but if unchallenged it will be in effect 60 days from the the date of his judgment.
I hope to hear and update from the ATFE (what they can share) in the next day or so, they had a meeting today to discuss what this means and were they will go from here. I hope it is home;) but not likely. You can expect many updates, rumors and opinions for the next few weeks I am sure!
Hopefully with the igniter issue already being worked on, some relief may still be in the near future.
I forgot about DOT regs.... Bummer.
Thanks for the info James.
You know, despite all this, I STILL want a LEUP. There are many laws and regulations: Federal, state, local. The irony in all of this is that none of us are terrorists or subversives, just people who love rocketry! I really never expected this challenge from my own country. We'll see. Our country was founded on freedom to live as we choose and abide by laws and change them if they deny our basic right to freedom. We've proven our ability to do this safely. Let's focus on that. Keep it safe! 😉 Warren, where are all these new Web site members coming from? Cool!
8) Well, we here at Giant Leap are just going to play it close to the vest. My paperwork is current. And my LEDP is AOK. So for now, things will stay the same. Maybe by MHM things will be clear. But I have always kept the motors coming, and I will try my best to keep-um-coming! Nice to be one the "uphill" side once...
the newest inside info is that apparently, DOJ has the option of appealing and requesting a stay not ATFE. Since this is DOJ’s decision, they(ATFE) don’t know yet if that will happen.
They are saying they may know something next week.

The new members are spammers - Jeremiah and I have succeeded in keeping them from posting and mining user data, but we can't stop the automated sign-up yet. We're working on it.

THAT I didn't know, Warren. Great work!
