This year NCR will have a vendor area set up at the Longmont Expo on June 25 ( http://www.lmoexpo.org). The plan is to have a display with some of the rockets we fly (both large and small) and possibly a raffle for the kids (small Estes kits and motors). This is mainly planned as an outreach event to show people what our club is and what we do.
I need some folks to help out with setting up the display, taking it down, manning the display to answer questions, etc. I'll also need some rockets we can show off and if anyone has some Estes kits (or others) they could donate for the raffle, that would help greatly.
So, if anyone wants to help out, please let me know. I know this is the same weekend as the Hartsel launch, but if you are not going to the launch, this will be a fun time. Plus, the airshow is really good and alot of fun watch. My neighbor is an aerobatic pilot and he will be performing.
PLEASE - volunteer and help out. This will be a great event for the club.
Thanks.
Ken
Yeah, I could help out with that possibly. I can certainly provide my 5" L3 project for display and almost certainly hang out for a few hours to gab with folks and represent NCR. My grandkids would come, they'd love it.
Having a build session Sunday for 2 of my grandsons and a small herd of other 6-10 year old boys. Everyone gets to build an Estes Alpha (DAMN those things have gotten expensive! Last time I bought an Alpha kit it was like $2.50. I think these were like $14 each. In any event, my attempt at playing an active grandpa has cost me close to $100. Be that as it may, the plan is we build all these rockets Sunday, I paint them Monday and the kids will come out to the launch the following Saturday to fly them. I may even fly an L if I can find the main chute for my 4" sport bird.

Mitch. Very nice. Thanks for the link.
Welcome.
I bet I can get my son Tyler to help out. He can certainly bring some of his Estes for display and is always excited to talk rockets. I have some L1-L2s as well for show.
and who wouldn't like a "reason" to go to an airshow?
Dave
I can loan my 3x yellow jacket and original one for this. I can even display my colonial vipers too.
That is of course that they survive MHM first 😀
Sorry for the late notice, but NCR wont be hosting at this event for various reasons.
Regardless, I still plan on watching the air show though.
Thanks to all that responded.
Ken
Dang. I was looking forward to it.
Can you elaborate on why it isn't happening?

I'd be going out on a limb here but I'd guess primarily due to the cost and time committment necesary to make the day/event happen without the burnout factor for over committed volunteers. These sorts of outreach projects are huge endeavors.
