Anyone doing anything special for the lunar eclipse thurs?
Actually, I'm planning on watching it tonight (Wednesday) starting about 6:45 when it begins to be noticable and maxi-obscured by about 8 PM. Then it starts to fade away. Thursday will be too late.
Hey, it began 7 minutes ago, what am I doing here? 😯
damn - CLOUDS!!!!
Warren
Got that right, Warren! Only able to see a hazy view... best I've seen was in Los Angeles, CA, years ago. Still, seeing the "shadow of the Earth" is always cool. 😉
Looks like I'll be waiting till Dec. 2010 for a better view. Couldn't see thru the clouds for this one.
I can still see a partial eclipse... but not too clear. You guys got to see the ISS and shuttle, but I couldn't due to clouds... now it's my turn... another thread, but did the Navy try one of its three missiles to shoot down that satellite?
The Navy claims, one shot, one kill. Debris should be burning up for the next few days, with the remote possibility of pieces re-entering up to forty days out. That's not a shooting star - that's cosmic debris. Over 10,000 pieces of space junk are currently tracked.
There will be a pass of the remains of the satellite from the SW at 17:26 this evening (5:26). There is a possibility some of the debris can be seen...

Watch all the way through - screen goes dark partway. Yowza!
Man, I wish I could build a multi-stage rocket like that! There will be another pass over colorado again this evening at 5:17. The sky's are clear today but it's unlikely anything can be seen...
That is so cool! Bada-bing, bada-BOOM! I agree, Ken, nice rocket! 😉
