OK, as the snow is still 4' deep in Iowa (no kidding) and I am about to go stir crazy, I see that this upcoming Saturday is March 1. That can only mean MHM is just around the corner....
So... what are all the cool kids flying at MHM this year?
I'll be flying "Excess in Moderation" (LOC Fantom EXL) on probably an I300T with 6 F24W airstarts and DD. A bit "out there" for a L1 newbie. It should be cool whether successful or not. 😉
Other than that, I'm there to watch.

Well let's see - depending on the waiver of course, I have a bunch of stuff to fly.
- 54mm min diameter "Delicate Sound of Thunder" on an Ellis L330 - expected altitude 27500' AGL.
- 38mm min diameter "Momentary Lapse of Reason II" on an AT J570 - expected altitude 17,500' AGL.
- 4" carbon/glass project "The Big O" on an AMW L1300BB - expected altitude 11K' AGL.
- 54mm diameter bird, unnamed as yet, on AMW K550SK - expected altitude 13,500' AGL.
- 5" Level 3 project, "Lady 'N Red", on an AT M1419W - expected altitude 14800' AGL.
- possible second flight of Lady N Red on a CTI M795 - expected altitude 19700' AGL. (If I cert and the bird survives the cert flight.)
Pretty good list of stuff.
Sorry JW, it's still too early to tell. Art and I are building a new rocket that we hope to fly at MHM but considering it's still under construction... I hope to post some more information around April once we know it's going to fly.
However, we still have a couple of N's in the magazine that are burning holes in our pockets (figuratively of course). So I'm thinking about Freeze Frame ( http://www.rocketryphotography.com/rockets/RocketsFreezeframe.html ) on the N2800 and I believe Art wants to use the N4000. But no Drag race this time, only one casing 🙁

The Saturn Five is in the Vehicle Assembly Building for repairs but should be rolled on for another spectacular boost. And I hope to Drag Race Tim Thomas with the Doug Stout custom ARCAS on J380's.
I think I'll be making some more altitude attempts:
F10 attempt #5
Ellis 24mm G attempt #1.
Maybe a 24mm E6
I'll also fly my Thunderbolt, assuming it survives this Saturday.
Adrian, I found 3X E12-10 Ellis loads 24mm. I will bring them this weekend
I'm going to sit around and cry because I can't be there.

Cool. Thanks for thinking of me on that. I'll be sure to bring my checkbook. Looking at the motor cert info, the Apogee E6 has a shorter length, a little higher impulse, and has a longer burn time, so I think I'll build around that one for the record attempts. With the Parrot and a beeline, I think I can build it light enough to work fine with the lower thrust. But the E12 would be nice to have under windier conditions, if it wouldn't throw off the CG too much sticking out the back.
Loc Magnum (Pawnee Arrow) K445 and 2-H180
Loc Big Nuke J460 (My short version)
5.5 Upscale Swift G40
5.5 Upscale Masquito G40
3EE GEE 3-G64 (Rebuilt after crash)
Plan B I285 or H210 (Repaired)
Mile High Mayhem 2008 G64 (Changed from MHM 2007 to 2008
High Tech H45 G80
One Building Now J350 (If I get done)
Some I may fly more than one time. Sounds like a lot But remember,
I only get to go to two or three launches a year.
Man...I'm anxious.
Wow. There seems to be some pent up demand 🙂 I hope to fly my 75mm altitude attempt but I need all kinds of things to fall into place (35K window, no jet stream overhead, blue skies, etc.)
Besides that, K. Parsons and I may do a dart, and I'm thinking of an I altitude attempt.
All of this is pretty iffy as I haven't started on anything. Been too bizzy SCOOPING SNOW............ sigh.
With the weather finally cooperating, I began work on my L-N rocket, a PR Intimidator 5... however, as I got ready to mount the fins to the motor mount, I noticed that they weren't cut right. Right now I'm kinda disgusted... 🙄
the usual collection of LPR (i can't help it - i love those little rockets!), plus my phobos and that spiffy triple cluster i won off tim last year ... ! 😀
oh, and i'll bring a wad of money that i'll blow on kits and toys i don't really need!
I'll have a 2.5X Big Daddy on a K something with 2 air started I's. Then I'll also fly a Vaughn Brothers Extreme 38 that I picked up from Tim on something that puts it as close to a mile as possible. Last I'll try fly whatever else I have depending on weather and budget. The Big Daddy flight will take up most motor budget.

Maybe a "K" in "Butt of the Qauntum"
Got a new rocket, sorta out of scratch. 10ft or so "Hair Of The Dog"
If I get a successful duel deplyoy in April, on a "J" Ill launch it at MHM with that new K270 Tim was telling me about.
Plus a bunch of "Gs" and since I cant be at the launch this weekend,
Ill try my 4 stager Estas in April. If that works out maybe Ill try 5.
Anybody ever light a single engine second stage from a first stage cluster?
If anyone remembers that little cannon I brought in Febuary, the guy who built that, has a bigger one (about 3" barrel), he said he could bring it out some time, and that it was pretty impressive. That is unless we thought it might bring an unfavorable responce from the Law. Pretty loud!!8O Joe would have to let me know on that one. 🙄
Other than that, you guys are spending so much dam money (especially Warren on his NASA budget) why should I spend any more of my own! My neck is allready going to be in pain from looking to the sky. 🙂
