Unfortunately, weather forecasts for later this week and into the weekend are not looking especially great. While it doesn't look like the skies will open and a deluge pour forth like last year, it does look a bit cool and occasionally cloudy.
I will still be at the North Site by mid afternoon on Thursday and plan on setting up the range at that time as well as camping out overnight. However, it does look like light rain and possibly snow will fall on Thursday and Friday. Also, high winds are forecast for Friday.
Saturday and Sunday are looking much better with scattered to partly clouds and highs in the upper 50's to low 60's.
Just letting folks know so they can be prepared for the weather. Of course we'll have wood for the campfire.
Today's update for Carr, CO has 20-30mph winds on Friday, 10-15mph winds on Saturday, and 2-6 mph winds on Sunday. Mostly cloudy and cool all 3 days, with highs in the 40s on Friday, and in the 50s on Saturday and Sunday.
For level-2 fliers, Sunday is like any other launch day, correct?

Depends on which weather site you go to. I have seen temps from mid to low 40's for all three days and mid to high 60's for Sat and Sun.
As far as Sunday TRA level 2 and high can fly. With that being said if you are not level 2 or higher or NAR you can find a TRA level2 or higher flyer and have them sponsor your flight to fly up to your current level.
I'm getting this from NOAA.

All forecast models show that Friday will have high winds, Saturday should be really good, Sunday a close second. While I've only been with the club going on three years, last year's MHM was the worst. The weather is going to be what it is. Most MHM days have been like today was, fantastic. But weather happens...
There is a move to discuss whether to move Mile Hi Mayhem to a later date. The second weekend in May has been shot down due to Mothers Day. The Memorial Day weekend would violate the clubs normal prohibition against scheduling launches on national holidays so that families can enjoy them together.
The 3rd weekend in May conflicts with other clubs launch schedules, though otherwise is open. My personal thought is to move it to the June launch - the first weekend in June conflicts with nothing except our regular launch. The weather is far more predictable too.
I plan on bringing this issue up at the June bi-annual meeting and will personally push for moving Mayhem to the first weekend in June due to weather considerations. After 2 years of plainly unpredictable or bad weather, it would serve us far better as a club... though we may have to rename the event Jumpin' June or something.

I take vacation for MHM. So any time it is held, I would Be
there.
Remeber. One day is better than none. Last years MHM
I got Level 1 On friday. Saturday I used it to float
around the pad area.
Saturday will be a great day.
But. I would be for a change also.
As one vendor said last year. MHM has always been a crapshoot.
Just let us know in time. 😉 Last year, Warren, you, Art, Joe and others were setting up on Thursday, then that evening a tornado touched down just outside of Pierce, heading for the north site. It is a good decision to change the event because of the weather. Let me add, that Doug G. will be coming from NM, JW from Iowa, Kent (GLR) from Kansas, and Tim Thomas (GLR) from Delta, CO. They do need adequate notice IF it's this MHM you're talking about putting off. I saw that Summit County will get 16" of snow tomorrow, and Tim has to cross that "big hill" to get to MHM. ❓
I just got off the phone with Joe and MHM is definitely ON for this weekend. At the June meeting the membership will discuss moving the date for future MHM's later in the season.
Given the forecast, I expect we will be hunkering down Thursday night, Friday and Friday night for the weather and especially the wind to pass. Saturday looks to be OK and Sunday may be the best day of the weekend. Unfortunately, you will need to be a TRA L2 or higher to fly or you will need a TRA L2 or better to sponsor you flight (their name on the flight card).

Sounds good. We can socialize and endure the wind on Friday, then get ready for a fantastic Saturday and Sunday!

The first weekend conflicts with other clubs as well.

Yes, well, with only 4 weekends in a month, it's going to conflict with something. As I recall, TC's regular launches are the 3rd weekend of the month which is why I am moved to push it to the June launch weekend on the first full weekend of June.

I will be taking many pictures all the time I am there.
I will be putting them up on my 'putfile' site for all to
take.
I am NOT a great photographer. But there will be
probably a couple hundred pictures.
I just learned the 'continuous' function on My camera.
So I should get some good launch shots. Hope 😯
I will be only watching Sunday. Taking many shots.
Hope for some BIG ONES.
I feel the 'Rocket Gods' will shine on Us.
8) Well, Sara and I will be comming over on Friday morning. All the weather models have one thing in common, Friday, very windy. We should be on site around 1 pm to set up and be ready for a great Saturday. If the wind lets up early maybe a chance or two for a flight later Friday. I see no reason to take on the Mountains Thursday. See ya there! 8)
Drive safe Tim... don't forget my M motors (and the casings).
