I live in Wellington. 35 miles from north site by car. Less by crow. We received two inches of snow last night. Weather history for Grover shows they have had more than an inch of moisture in the last two weeks.
At MHM, back in 2011(?) when the cold front came through and on the last day, that Monday, we had ground fog till late morning. A RV tried to get out and managed to get turned sideways blocking the road in/out and you had to work hard to go around because the mud was so slippery. People were worried that they could not get out because of the mud and really tore up the road trying to leave in a quasi-panic.
By one o'clock after giving the road a couple of hours to dry out, everything was fine and the mud was gone. I would expect the same for mini-MHM. I think to get to a serious mud condition you would have to have standing water, which should only be in the washes and the ponds that are normally dry. Mudded out from flying I think will be very unlikely.
I'd be happy to donate a motor to the honor flight - I'll bring an assortment to chose from.
Thanks Joe. Look forward to seeing everyone after such a long break from launches!

I think I may camp out that night. It's been too long since I slept in a tent on the prairie.
I'll also be ready for helping with set up Friday AM.

I won't be flying and HPR at Mini-Mayhem as I've just moved and can't quite find everything, but will be flying some LPR with my son. Is there a volunteer schedule because I'd love to sign up for LCO/RSO/Range Director.
Also, I'll be available with tons of parts, tools, parachutes in case anyone needs anything. I'll also have my Garmin Astro to borrow if anyone would like.
Is anyone going to fly a hybrid? If so I *NEED* to know so I can get the GSE there.
Edward
Is there any chance for a early am flight just before sunrise on either Sat or Sun? I am working with a National Geographic fellow who has a 360 degree HD video system we will be flying over the weekend and thought a great video would be just before sunrise, as the rocket increases altitude the sun would break over the horizon for a great video shot. Sunrise today was at 0608 so a minute or two before sunrise would be perfect. Flight is going to be under 10,000 feet but we would obviously need the waiver for this. Would Sat or Sun be a possibility for an early waiver opening?
Thanks, Sean
I hope to fly a couple birds.
My AGM - 33 SCORPION Will fly on a K650SS
Another yellow and black theme too,
The K-650 is fun!. It will go high. I am bringing Dog Collars, Astros, Big Red Bee Beacons and Big Red Bee GPS out. If you need tracking it's all available.
Steve
Your Scorpion is a bute, Mike. Don't get bit. The rocket looks great, but how much for those Lista cabinets? I need something to put tools and rocket parts in? (LOL) 😆
Weather reports are currently showing one last rain midweek, then a possible "slight yuck" day Saturday. Any 1st hand reports from those up north?
Also, is Sunday research? Will LPR racks still be set up Sunday? Just trying to plan.
Thanks,
-Ken
Beautiful here in Wellington today. Sunny, already over 70 degrees at 10 am.
Weather forecast for next Saturday says breezy (15-20mph winds) but beautiful on Friday and Sunday. Wish I was going to be there.
Last call for Nitrous at Mini-Mile High Mayhem.
Please contact me at

if you are going to fly a hybrid.

Nice one. I can't wait.
The weather is working in our favor. Snow should be pretty well
gone by Thursday afternoon.
Nice to have some good moisture for the Pawnee.
I am setting up Thursday. I will come back with a report of
conditions and some pictures.
The winds also look to be in our favor.
FYI to all concerned - set up is still planned to happen Thursday afternoon/evening and we'll finish Friday morning for operations. Be smart - plan according to the weather - and be gentle on the roads and prairie.
Weather update from some of my field crew who are installing one of our environmental monitoring towers about 7.5 miles SW of the North Site: They aborted work because of snow, up to 7' high drifts in places. I hope the ground soaks it up like a sponge once the sun comes out, or it's gonna be soupy out there!
