I was at the 'North Site' today and it looks fantastic.
Very lush and green.

I did find a small nose cone. I will post a pic. later.
The gate issue is corrected. A jobe well done.
Double WOW! It hasn't looked that green since June 2007!
Did you find my booster 😉
Very Lush and Green!
Looks like it may need mowed. 😀
Related note - the Prange Ranch that was for sale near the site nearly 10k acres) wasn't chopped into tracks - someone bought the whole thing and plans on continuing keeping it a ranch. I'm very glad to hear this - I'd hate to see a bunch of McMansion ranches pop up.

That is GREAT news on Prange Ranch. We take our telescopes out to the N site, and it is more light polluted than you'd expect... the "Denver Nebula" is cleary visible, and the Cheyenne lights aren't good, either.
I'm not worried about McMansions - it is the McRanches that wreak havoc. Everyone who goes out there seems to think they need a mercury vapor light (which sends more light up than down, and they run all night). I understand the need for lighting. It can danged sure be done better than a mercury vapor, though.
In the last ten years, the Atlas site has become pretty nearly worthless for astronomy. There are a dozen merc vapor lights on hwy 14 now. I was concerned that the N. Site may end up that way as well. It is getting very, very hard to find dark skies.....................
If the land is relatively near the launch site, it might be wise for the club to send a "welcome basket" to the new owners and let them know about us and our responsible activities, notification procedures, etc. Start to build the good relationship from the start.
