Some of us did this last year, or maybe the year before. Super fun day to show off our stuff!!
The EAA chapter in Greeley is hosting a 'Learn to Fly' day on May 16 at the Greeley Weld County Airport. They would like to invite local rocketeers to host a tent and share info about amateur rocketry in Colorado. I expect this event to be well attended as CFIs will be giving airplane rides. Will you consider coming and manning the table for an hour or two? Let me know if you can be there.
Details,
We will be at the Greeley-Weld County Airport (KGXY) beginning at 7:30 AM and let’s staff the table till 3.
We will be located at the AIMS hangar which is SE of the terminal building. We will not need a tent as we will be inside.
Let’s plan on the following shifts:
7:30 – 9:00
9:00 – 11:00
11:00 – 1:00
1:00 – 3:00
Can you email me with the time you’d (or your rocketeers) might be able to help? It’d be great to have a wide variety of rockets and assemblies including both low and high power. It’d also be cool to have some video on a PC of launches. Jon S might be able to bring the store and put some kits / assemblies in the hands of kids? (I think that’d be ok Capt. Dilley?)
Also, if there is a banner for CRASH, SCRonline, NCR or TARC and NAR, we could put them up. (I don’t have anything like that).
The Preston TARC teams will bring their rockets and I have video.
Let’s take the opportunity to bring more kids and adults into the sport!
I’m open for ideas about how to maximize this opportunity.
Thanks!
