Today about 0.25" rain fell on the launch site according to radar storm total. Not enough to change the fuel moistures by itself, but a good start.

I could see it coming down from here in Cheyenne. Here it never
hit the ground. I'm glad it did there.
Been cloudy all day. 100% humid. all day. And raining now.
WOO WOO
Rained from 4:00 to 5:00 here in Fort Collins. I'd guess 1/4"
Evaporated quick afterwards.

8) I am a CoCoRaHS weather observer also. I see from morning reports from around the state, that we received some good moisture in some places. Too bad more was not received up on the Pawnee. 0.03" here SW of Berthoud. Most stations reporting in 0.02"-0.05" on average in this area.
Mike, you need to do more rain dances up there, sense your closer to site. 😆
Will do. I do not think My feet can move that fast for much hope.
There was also a big grass fire today near Kersey - it is still dry out there.

I have a question. ❓ Why do they charge $35 for participate at their Chili Blast? ❓ Do they have some high exspenses? ❓ Just wondering. 🙄 Maybe some of you who attend might fill me in. That's one reseaon I hasitate to go down.
8) This is there only real money maker for them. I don't think they have a raffle. A new club, they need the bucks. Oktoberfest sounds to be a goner, so you should get your rockets down there. It's there or Hartsel. 8)
I would agreeee. For work I ran down to Denver. Drove 85 all the
way and back.
I have never seen it so dry ever. (In all my years 😯 ) The grass
has a dead (not domant) look about it.
In Cheyenne last season We had more snow than We have had
in 102 years.
In contrast. We have only had a hand full of real good rains. The
least I can ever remember. Mid July to mid Aug., most of the
time gets rain every day. Nothnig.
Even if rain and snow started. The ground would soak it up and
leave dry grass behind. No new growth till next year.
I hate to be grim.
With that said. When by bonus money comes in. (Oct. and Feb.)
I will be buying motors and building supplies. Just because I
am not launching I still need to get, get, get.
Do not forget the people that sell at launches. There are other
ways to get goodies from them.
🙄 I guess they(Chili Blasters) and everyone else(vendors)needs a little green spread abouts. I assume we will have a equipment cleanup in mid October..... maybe or wait till next Spring. 😥 Guess we are in no rush. I got some tubing and stuff about that will make some excellent rockets. 😈 Maybe that will help take my mind off of not being able to launch up on the Pawnee. 😥 Besides, I got to figure out who I want to vote for come Nov. 2. but I think that is a no brainer. ❗ Just hope we get some precip. soon one way or the other. Dance Mike ,Dance!! 😆
It is a shame, but O'fest does look like it isn't going to happen this year. That is NOT for sure yet so don't panic, but looking at the long term outlook it appears we're going to keep having more of the same weather.
I unfortunately can't afford to go to Chili-Blaster so unless we end up with a November launch, I probably won't be flying until next Spring.

I recommend everyone go to the next Hartsel launch.
And the low hills to the East, please take an extended walk there!
Did I happen to mention I lost a green and gold rocket there? 😉
I will be heading to Hartsel, should Oktoberfest not come to pass.
I am finalizing my newest rocket for Oktoberfest nonetheless. It a Performance Arrow. Sort of big -- 4 inch airframe, over 8 feet tall, with only a 54mm MMT. It is a slower and lower variant.
As a consequence I've dubbed it "The Pork Arrow"
Hartsel, Pawnee, or Chili Blaster, I'll find a place to fly it. In the meanwhile, I'll be stocking up on parts, motors, and building new toys.
