Hello From Cape Canaveral
After a 13 hour trip to day by bus, our second trip to Florida since November, and Months of waiting.
They finally sent Discovery skyward! 😀
I dont know why the were so worried about that tank for, it wasnt on that long. 😉
Good job! Were you on the causeway?
Looked like some really, really, really big white lightning loads, didn't it 8)
My wife and I saw the last shot in May. Yowza! Were the winds favorable so you could hear it? When we were there the winds were at our back and we sorta missed out on that part of it...
We could hear it most definatly. Although I thought it would be louder.
And yes, we were on the causway.
The adrenaline has worn off, and I feel like its a monday after a 3 or 4 day NCR launch. Tired. 😕
Here's video of the launch.

Good seeing you there Scott. How about that traffic jam after the launch. We were in Titusville, and it took 3.5 hours to get back. For those that don't know Titusville is only about 10 miles from KSC. Absolutely worth it. 😀
I saw Apollo 11 from the beach with the clock (not sure where it is, but close - near VIP stands).Saw Apollo 17 from Titusville - a shopping center parking lot. Saw the first Shuttle from the causeway. Those are the only launches I've ever been to. I'm friggin' jealous.
Was this the very last shuttle launch or the last Discovery launch?
W
PS: While we're at it, where the hell is my flying car? I was promised a vacation on the moon, a career on Mars and a damned flying car when I was 9 years old and we were going to the moon. What the hell happened?
Last for the Discovery.
There are two more launchs, I beleive.

The Wife and I both agree with You.

My wife asked the same thing this past week, "Where's my flying car?" I don't know. 😯

Much better video than I got. Im assuming that was zoomed in. I held the video out to the side while I looked though the binocks. It worked ok but yours is much better.
ps you should dub in some really loud sound 😉
