My PC died Sundy. I learned a long time ago its faster to just buy a new machine (they are cheap enough any more) It wasnt my drives, so I thought, just plug in my old drives into the new machine and away I go.
Wrong!!! Seams I need a lot of new drivers. And XP crashed on boot up every time. Hmmmm
So even though its a pain, I thought would just load all my programs into Vista.
Wrong!!! Half the programs I have, dont work in Vista. And I aint spending 2 grand in new software. And no John, Rocksim 4.0 probably wont work in vista either. There are a few other things that irritated me about Vista as well!
Well I found the ini file (to my suprize) that was causing XP to crash.
And now I just need to figure out what mother board I have, so I can get the drivers for XP, since every thing is built onto the mother boards now a days.
PC wizes feel free to chime in.
I can now boot up in either Vista 😡 or XP 🙂 depending on the boot drive I pick in the set up screen, in the beginning. I know you can have duel boot with partitions and stuff but that about all I know.
If any of you are thinking about buying Vista
"DON'T DO IT"!!!!!!!
Best thing I found with the new systems with the STD Vista is get one with the XP downgrade (yeah right) program. It puts XP on your new computer but leaves the VD program on for later if you should ever loose your mind and want to go back to it..... I'm in the same boat right now. My Dell is crashing (again) and needs to be replaced. All the custom built ones from the good mfgs sell them for $1600 starting prices......
Vista is nothing but a nightmare for about anything computer related, I would rather relearn to use a MAC before I would use it. I can't say enough bad about it to even make me feel better..... 👿
