What a great day for a launch.
Warm - Calm - Friendly
Thanks to all for coming.
Here are a few pics.

I can email a larger copy if needed.
agreed, best launch I've been to- friendly, nice weather, mellow winds, some great flights and a bunch of "oops" flights. But you didn't get a picture of the grass fire 😉
Would rather not perpetuate the knowledge or memory of said.
It was indeed a great day for a launch, it was good to shag a few rockets. I wish I'd brought something to fly.
Of special interest was the incredible number of rattlesnakes! Many, many sightings and some pretty awesome photos taken. I've hiked out there for years and I saw more snakes Saturday than all previous days combined. For those not in attendance, we had many reported sightings, and often saw multiple snakes in the same area. They were buzzing, too.
I don't mind the snakes and I'd personally rather not see the herd thinned out -- but it is prudent to heighten everyone's awareness, especially those with kids. Not a good idea to have dogs out there, either.

Indeed - more Rattlesnakes in one day than I've ever seen - reports of at least 7 individual snakes in a wide range of locations although I personally only saw 3. We saw multiple snakes on the western edge of Rd. 45 right behind the flight line.

I am not for thinning either.
But if it becomes a large problem it may become necessary. ??
(I do not mean to have a nature debate. Only thinking of safety)
One thing to think about.
All the little chunks of food We leave at the site gets consumed by the snakes pray. The snake will follow its pray. Do not feed the critters.
It also have been a strange weather year. Wet spring and
summer Longer than normal spring. I am sure nature is a
little confused also. The couple snakes I seen sure seemed
small for this time of the year. I am no snake expert. But if
nature can have a second go-round with birth. It will.
We are in natures country. We need to care for it.
Interesting observation Mike, come to think of it, there were a lot more small snakes then big ones but I did see a couple good sized ones yesterday. I don't know how many I saw multiple times but I personally saw 11 or 12 snakes yesterday. Two of my encounters were later in the day and were a little closer then I would have liked them to be, to say the least.
