As the annual meeting is approaching in just a few days, I want to remind folks of a couple things.
First, Joe Hinton, our club president, is a god - he basically runs this club more or less single handedly with the exception of Ken Plattner handling the membership dues and maintaining the membership list, Ed Dawson handling the volunteer issues, myself handling the website and contests and both Ed and myself being responsible for the launch equipment. Joe deserves a major thank you from us all for all he does - interacting with the FAA on the waiver, the USFS on our use of both the North Site and the Atlas Site, arranging porta potties, handling TRA Prefect tasks, etc. etc. etc. There is no end to the work that Joe does for the club and I for one want to make sure we let him know how much what he does means to the club.
Second, Joe has handled being Tripoli Prefect the last couple years on top of all his regular duties running the club as a whole. This year there are choices. Both Conway Stevens and myself are also in the running for Tripoli Prefect so if you're a Tripoli member, think of who you would be best served by and vote your conscience. If you are unable to attend, please snail mail or FAX your vote by proxy to the club by Friday. To FAX it, please FAX it to the attention of Warren Musselman at (303) 449-5594. For Snail Mail, (getting a little close for this, but...) Northern Colorado Rocketry, c/o Joe Hinton 2205B Pine St. Boulder CO 80302. Best of all, give you vote in writing to someone who will be attending the meeting.
Third, bring your appetite. My wife, Lea, and I are providing the food for our little get together this year and the menu is barbecue beef and pork, potato salad and baked beans. We've made plenty and we want to make sure we don't bring home leftovers. The club will also be providing soda as well as there being a cash bar right next door at the Bison Breath Saloon.
Finally, bring your excess rocketry stuff to sell or trade. Doors open at 11, food is served at 1 and the meeting commences immediately thereafter. Please come. We're looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
Warren
I gotta tell ya, that between me and Conway, there won't be any potato salad leftovers. I'm bringing extra insulin for it. 😉

Sorry for being so late catching up on the forum postings but this is not what was told to me for proxy voting. I did notify Joe and the person voting my proxy well in advance but there was nothing mentioning about it having to be "in writing". I hope this won't be a problem.
Doug
Shouldn't be a problem Doug. In writing does simplify it though. We're going to visit that issue re: the bylaws sometime this year I think. A couple people have brought it up.
Warren
In writing includes email and fax. No hanging chads allowed.
saturday at the meeting. I need to get from the trailer the used up
flappers. I have new rubber to apply. Also I have a new weed
wacker (sickle) to throw in the trailer, to replace the broken one.
I hope someone can put me in the right place.
thanks mike.
Wow, another older thread re-vived. Please note, for the meeeting in 2010, doors at 11, lunch at noon (another excellant meal planned), business at 1. I expect the USFS will be first up on the floor - let's keep it polite and professional and hear them out. I think everyone deserves the chance to understand why it has taken over five years for them to process our application; and just what circumstances changed from before and after our incident on November 7th. I remain optimistic that an interim agreement can be reached to allow launches to resume until the permit is actually completed and issued.
NCR has a guest speaker slated on the agenda as well - Greg Card, an engineer from the High Altitude Observatory, a division of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, which is operated by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research under sponsorship of the National Science Foundation.
And then there are the chores of approving our launch schedule with affiliation determination (NAR or TRA sanctioned), contest awards, information sharing, event planning, et cetera.
2008. WoW. I thought My week was off some what.
