These have been at FE Warren for years. Thought You may like
to see what I see a few times a week.
Seven Pics.

Minuteman II, Minuteman III and an MX Peacekeeper. Gotta love it - our finest engineering used for mass destruction. The MX (they're all decommissioned now) could deliver 10 dial-a-yield warheads capable of 40 kT up to 450 kT - plus a variety of decoy and chaff packages all on a steerable bus. The Minuteman III delivered 3 warheads - typically fixed yield back in their orignal deployment but now with dial-a-yield W-88's if I remember correctly. The original Minuteman and Minuteman II carried a single large yield warhead - in the Megaton range if I recall correctly.

FE Warren AFB is still very active with MMIII and Peacekeepers. They, I believe, had control of "our" Atlas site before it was deactivated. Don't kid yourself, there are STILL active sites in WY, CO, and NB.

BWAHAHAHA too cool! I wonder if we could get one in our yards too... 8)
Nice view!
Do you guys know what that rocket is in Canyon City at the Veterans Memorial park.
There are most definitely active sites around Warren AFB. I believe nearly 100 Minuteman silos are still going with Minuteman III. All MX Peacemakers (only 100 ever built) have been removed from the silos (2005 I believe) and are being converted into satellite launchers.
The Atlas Site was decommissioned in the mid-60's after only being online for 2 or 3 years. It was buried in the 1990's by the Forest Service due to kids and vandals and such getting inside. I found out a bunch online including a pre-burial aerial view.
East of the North Site a ways, you'll pass through the town of Grover. 2 miles east of town is the first of a squadron of 10 Minuteman III's. There are a number of 10 missile squadrons spread out to the east and south as well as actually straddling the WY border.

If You take 25 North from Cheyenne a couple miles, then
85 North/East to Torrington. You pass many silos along the
way.

OK Warren, how about some links for the "views"..... Inquiring minds want to see. 😀
I've started a new thread to show the info I've collected on the Atlas Site.
