On behalf of the Boulder County 4-H Model Rocketry program, I'd like to thank Ken Plattner for judging the 2008 Boulder County 4-H Rocket Shoot on Tuesday, July 29th 2008.

The Longmont Times-Call ran a nice article of the event in today's (July 30th) paper - see:

I'd also would like to thank NCR for providing a means of contacting willing volunteers (such as Ken) and for supporting our youth when they visit during one of your many launches.

Thanks for helping the 4-H. But now that you've had your picture in the paper you're gonna get a big head, right. Fame and fortune ensues.

Thanks everyone. It was a blast. Literally! All of the kids had a great time. I know I did. All of the flights were great and the winds were perfect. Almost all of the flights landed within a 100' radius of the pad. A couple were within 10'. One bird came in ballistic and one popped a motor during deployment. Other than those two and a couple of tangled chutes all of the fights were perfect.

Thanks to Kevin and 4H for the opportunity to judge the event. I hope I can do it again next year.
