With an injury and personal problems BSD went out of business,
sometime ago.
All hopes of re-opening are lost. The BSD web site is gone.
I went to it today just to see and poof. It may have happened sometime ago.
🙁
Too bad. There seems to be a major shrinking of the vendors out there. Though, some local groups are in the works -- not to forget 3-Dogs.
I hadn't heard that about BSD? I flew a "Sentinel" many, many years ago. I'm sorry to hear about the injury...
Madcow seems pretty firmly entrenched. I'm quite pleased with their availability, etc. Mike Stoop (owner of Madcow) is really serious about his foray into the business. He's got some outstanding stuff in the pipeline, and I think he competes very favorably with the others in that niche.
Madcow has a new kit coming soon, I hope to have it for MHM... and it will be VERY cool. I saw the prototype and ordered a dozen of 'em 8)
Yeah, I got my set of 38 casings from Scott just before the whole mess came down. He put a few fingers through the table saw, with a long and not-so-perfect recovery. After that he got into a messy divorce battle and she's taking him for everything she can, evidently. I'd heard rumors about BSD being bought up, but nothing materialized yet.

I thought the Sentinel was a Binder Design kit? BSD had some very nice kits. I really wish that Rocket Dynamic Systems (RDS) would come back, really loved their prices on kits and materials.

Got your wish.

They appear to be operating per their web site a few minutes ago.
Their website may be back but inquiries into products available leave a lot to be desired. Everything seems to be on backorder and not in stock.

8) The folks over their at RDS have had some tough health issues (cancer). Jason C and I bought a pair of Orians last fall. The kits were a little slow but they came through. Really nice folks who have been dealt a poor hand. I hope things turnaround for them. The workmanship on the fins, rings and such was first rate. The tubes are paper, made to be glassed. These are definitely builder kits. Bare bones - you do the work. But for what you get, very fair priced. The Orian is 2 staged. We had ours made 75 to 54. Hope to have them ready for fall. Stockershock made us some outrageous 😈 graphics. 8) Come to think of it, the graphics cost more than the Kits! Oh boy, were they worth it! Anyhoo, I hope RDS makes it through!
That's right, Tim. If there's one thing about this hobby is that we're all supportive of each other and understand life's little "diversions." This is such a small market, and we all depend on each other to get what we need and give what others need. 😉
