If the volunteer calendar is up-to-date, only 9 out of 30 launch duty slots have volunteers for Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Friday are even thinner. Please check the calendar and sign up for a slot or two. Or three.
Can I do launch duty without a cert under my belt? I'm glad to take a break from pictures and help if needed.

Thanks, Murkdock. You can fill a Pad Manager slot. Basically, the way this works is that when the LCO is working the launch control system and the PA, and the RSO is at the front of the line of rocketeers checking rockets and assigning pads, the pad manager is helping out at the pads so that the RSO and LCO can keep things flowing at the control area. Having a stash of Estes ignitors on hand helps keep things moving, too. The duties are described at the volunteer link:

Ensure that the firing control leads are not switched between controllers and pads; rods are not being bent to load the rockets. The PM also helps instruct new flyers and guests with the use of our system.
The Pad Manager also needs to keep a watchful eye on what rocket configuration and sizes are being brought in for the day. Then the PM is also responsible for facilitating the re-configuration of the launch pads. On busy days launch pad reconfiguration should be kept at a minimum.
In the event that the flyer needs to change rods or rails, the Pad Manager will ensure that unused equipment is safely and neatly returned to the equipment trailer. We don't want flyers changing rods or rails unsupervised or having unused rods or rails lying on the ground for people to trip on or damage.
