For low cost flying, it is hard to beat the AT 29mm reloads. I also use the 24mm ones a lot. For the Aspire and other minimum diameter rockets you need to be concerned with motor retention. You will have to have a very snug fit for the motor to prevent it from kicking out on ejection. I am always surprised how much kick force ejection charges have. I lost a motor casing last month even with a motor clip, but luckily someone found it in the grass, but the parachute did not deploy and the rocket had minor damage (also sending me back to A on the alphabet contest).
Next time at the launch check out the motor retention people use- everything from tape around the motor case, to tape on the end, to fancy machined retainers.
So i check out the CTI sight, and it sounds like you get alot, but they are still $20 to $22 a shot. The best deal i found for the Aero Tech rms is $53 for the casing, and the reloads are $9 with another $3 for the ejection charge, although i only find a few reloads avaiable, thats with HObby Line.
Ok, so i've read different propellant types offer more thrust under the same totall impulse, so the questions is, do different motor companys, CTI and AT differ, looking for most bang for buck or more shots maybe. Again thanks for the help.

Just read another post about Tim. Hey Tim, what companys do you carry? CTI any others? thanks for the homework help.
$160 seems like alot. I've only built 4 rockets, flown 2 lots, an I204 that seems like WOWZER at this point. Especally hearing Adrain did a shot to 17,000' on a G to G, not sure i would need an I. Maybe someone that been threw this can help.
Thanks Again

I like that rumor, but it doesn't sound like any flight I've done yet. There was a G to E that I tried to fly last year but I didn't have the right ignitor to fire the sustainer. So my 2-stage flights have been on the drawing board, only. Probably you're thinking of Sean's cool G-to-G flight that went over 9k on Saturday.
My advice would be to keep flying the small motors as long you're having fun with them. Level 2 and 3 motors are a lot more expensive and stressful, so there's no need to rush to get there. As far as I know, the HPR reloads are pretty much all about $20 a shot, and up. The hobbyline 24mm reloads are sold in 3-packs pretty inexpensively and go up to F. There are a lot of 29mm motors out now. The club has motor cases you can borrow, but the smallest I saw in the box was a 38-240. If you ask around, you can borrow a case. Tim has lent me quite a few cases.
I've got a bunch of the Aerotech 29mm hobbyline cases. I'll sell you a good condition used one for $40. PM me for questions.
