Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know I'd be coming up Friday afternoon and hanging out until Sunday evening. I'm excited to see the group again and meet some new people.
I was wondering if anyone had any specific projects that they'd like me to do photos of, either during prep or launch. I'm going to do as much shooting as I can, but I thought if anyone had requests I'd try to get those setup now.
In case you don't know me, I'm a BAR and photo geek. Here are my shots from the July research launch
Doug and I are doing our third take of the Battle of the Acronyms drag race on Saturday. It would be great to have as many cameras on that as possible. There are a few big research flights on Sunday that will be going up, track me down when you get on sight and I will give you the run down.
As of now there are four N motors that I know of on Sunday.

Technically its not Battle of the Acronyms since I'm using Little Freeze Frame but it should be a good drag race. The simulations are nearly identical for the first few seconds. Again we're trying to film a rocket in flight from another rocket. I'll be flying Little Freeze Frame on Friday and Freeze Frame on Sunday as well.
Doug
p.s. I'll have 17 high speed movie movie and still cameras on the ground as well. But you can never have too many shots 😆
I'll be capturing video on Sunday for certain with a hand held and at various points earlier in the weekend. I'm sure I'll be making a nuisance of myself and asking to photograph many of your birds while they are sitting at your campsites too! 8)

John, the biggest nuisance might be the asking 😀 Just kidding of course. But feel free to shoot away and anyone that has a problem will let you know. I'll be showing my "Friday Night at the Movies" (not Videos) you'll want to catch.
Doug
Doug,
What time does the Friday Night at the Movies begin? I'll be arriving Friday afternoon and don't want to miss it! I'll be there before dark though for certain.
John
Half past Dark. No particular time, just after everyone gets dome eating dinner and the screen and projector gets set up. There will be free popcorn like last july.
Doug
Everyone got their cameras ready?

Where's the rest of them? 😉

Still in my shop. These are just the ones I'm using at the launch....

Gee
I have 1 and am lucky if I can find it.
How many pounds of silver nitrate is in all the film you are shooting? 🙂
Edward
😯
I don't know how many ounces but I feel it in the wallet when I go to process it!
Doug
Can you get a 'core charge' back...or at least the silver that got dissolved during developing? 🙂
Edward
Doug, you already know I'm impressed... nice to see a real engineer doing it up the best way he can. You definitely got an addiction to cameras... maybe I should introduce you to Dennis Gallagher, the engineer at my company that designed the HiRISE camera on Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter. I'm sure you guys could come up with something. He is likely to be attending on Saturday.
