For those of you that use rocksim, do you just use the default numbers? I have found that for some of the L3 designs I am looking at the difference between the default numbers and checking the "calculate Cd at Sim time" button can be as much as 30% in altitude. That's kind of alot. Based on my limited experience it seems that checking the box is pretty close, within a few percent of my actual recorded flight altitudes, but again, my data pool is limited. Thanks for anyone who can help me understand this aspect of simming better.
I think if you are way very close on static margin, it does show some reduced performance. From what I've seen, if you are +1.5 or greater, your performance pretty much evens out.
That is the case with Rocksim 4.0, anyway... which is way very old. I still like it the best.
