Does anyone know anything about regulations in Wellington for Estes E-D small rockets?
I know that Larimer County had a fire ban expiring 11/1, and I don't know if it was renewed but it doesn't really matter because it specifically exempted rockets <2oz propellant. If Wellington doesn't have any restrictions beyond those of LC, maybe I could take my kids to a park/school field there.

(I looked on the town website and the fire dept website but couldn't find anything)
Or how about Windsor (Eastman Park)?
Start by calling local parks & rec. as well as the fire dept. Always sound safe and professional when dealing with them and you usually get the same back.

Geof,
I don't know if you go to Hughes Stadium but last time I called CSU they were okay with Estes rockets there. Not in the Stadium but in the adjacent parking lots.

Edward,
Approx 7 years ago, they were not okay when I called them, and campus police asked me to "move along". I also talked to the FAA back then, and she said that the stadium was 4.8 miles from the Fort Collins City Airport. However, she said that as long as I stayed under 2000ft they didn't want notification.
Last weekend I found a large school yard in unincorporated Larimer County, which we shared with some model plane hobbyists. It worked well, and one of the airplane guys worked for the Poudre School District. He even went on the roof to recover the nylon parachutes from my Mega Mars Snooper when it re-kitted itself.
The great success of the day was my EA Twin Thunder, which had two spectacular flights on D12-3 with both gliders sailing perfectly both times.
So, for LPR the kids and I have had our fix. For MPR/HPR, hopefully Dec 4.
Can anyone point me to a website that clearly shows what is public land in Larimer County? I have another idea, but need a map.

The downtown airport is now closed so that shouldn't be a conflict. I know that the ME's on campus used Hughes Stadium. We received permission for a high school group two years ago.

That link lets you look at all the properties in Larimer County. If you look for terms such as 'City of Fort Collins', 'Larimer County', 'City of Loveland' and the like you should be able to find who owns what.
