Hey, so today (Sunday) there was a few of us standing around in a circle and I was trash talking gel coat and "less then perfect" composite products, for good reason too might I add. Those darn air pockets will pop up some day, it is not a question of if but WHEN! Just give that awesome paint job a year and that nose cone will start growing the bumps that will drive you too to hating gelcoat!
Anyways, a few of you mentioned a new business/guy that makes good glass nose cones, I don't recall the name. If someone would be so kind...
shameless plug, since you asked: Jeff Lane, Shockwaverocketry.com. Very nice stuff, no gel coat.
Yep, Jeff makes a good cone. I have a 54mm and a 75mm, and they look great. I also like the long aspect ratio of 6:1 that Jeff uses.
Good to see you up on the prairie yesterday, amigo.
And the 38mm is a 7:1 Von Karman, the only one commercially available as far as I know. I happened to buy one last night, as a matter of fact.
Thanks guys, it was good to be back out again! He doesn't have a 54mm cone listed, that is kind of a bummer.
Art, he just recently got the 54mm into production, they are not listed on the website but are available. Shoot him an email, he'll get back to you pretty quick.
Cool, thanks Mark!
