Looking to celebrate the Fourth an evening early? Huge gathering in Denver's City Civic Park for a free Colorado Symphony Orchestra performance and an awesome display of pyrotechnical artistry shot from the rooftop of the City and County Building. Concert starts at 8 PM and the fireworks should happen about 9:35 PM. CBS, Channel Four, will be doing a live broadcast if you'd rather watch in the comfort of your home. Sunday, July 3rd .
I saw you ( you had your back turned to the camera) and Larry with his mil-spec haircut on channel 4, 10pm news last night talking up the fireworks display. I presume the symphony willl play for a closing tune Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, (always a favorite, especailly with the canons and mortars at the end). Good luck and have a perfect show. I doubt I will come to Denver from Wellington. Denver and I do not get along well and so I always try to stay away if possible.
I saw some of it on TV last night, read the review on the Denver Post this morning, and watched the little 2 min. video with Larry and Ginger being interviewed. Some guy looking a lot like you standing in the background occassionally. What a show. I know you guys put a tremendous amount of prep into a 9 min. show. Incredible. 6000 rounds, and no 6" or 8" mortars but all under 2". Wow! How many miles of wiring did you have? What kind of software is on the computer? You guys did an absolutely fantastic job and it looks like it came off to perfection, but only you guys will know. Surely this is a time when the old Mark Twain quote proves true:"People say great things about me and I am gratified, and then I realize they did not say enough!" 8) HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! MAY OUR FLAG WAVE PROUDLY FOR A LONG LONG TIME. LET THE UNITED STATES AND HER PEOPLES REMEMBER HER ROOTS. I long for us to get back to those roots very soon. Amen
Amen, and NICELY DONE, Joe!
