All,
This is going to be a great launch but we need LCOs, RSOs, Pad Managers, and Registration help! Please help where you can.
I'm suggesting we try using a Google Document to manage the schedule.
Here's the link to the schedule;
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArFo2z4cgemOdHozaTBWSUNLOUFtdVhMcktJRW1mNUE&hl=en_US
Please check it out and add your name where you can.
Thanks!
Where is the trailer?
If it is at it's regular place, I can tow Thursday.
If it is farther away, it may be better for someone else.
Love the Google Document!
Edward
Thanks for signing up guys!
Mike, the trailer is still in Longmont so maybe we can find someone from this neighborhood to drive it up. Thanks, though.
Hey guys,
I'm down for a couple shifts, or more if needed.
I claimed my standard Saturday 8AM-2PM LCO shifts as usual, however I should put a warning out there - I may have to go in for shoulder surgery (rotator cuff, SLAP) the week of O-fest. MRI this Friday so will know for sure by Monday/Tuesday.
Other folks should keep in mind the potential availability of those slots and remember that if it is a good flying day, an EXPERIENCED LCO, RSO and pad manager are necessary to keep flights moving. NO FIRST TIMERS! for Saturday please.
W
Warren - I thought I had signed up for 10-12am on Saturday, did I not hit Save on the document. My Friday shift showed up fine.
Edward
Thanks all. Great to see schedule start to fill up. We really need the help to make this launch go flawlessly!
Edward, not sure what happened but really appreciate your signing up. Warren's 6 hour shift is a long one and there sounds like there's risk to his availability - we might just need you back in that slot.
I have no experience at any of these positions. I figure that registration is a good place to start. I assume someone will show me the ropes and we will have smooth sailing!
Right??
Absolutely - training is available and shadow operations are encouraged until everyone is comfortable with what they are doing. Basic guidelines are available in the Volunteer Schedule link.
Ed, you probably did press Save. However, I probably overwrote it - I didn't even pay attention. For at least the last 5 years I've traditionally taken the Saturday morning to early afternoon shifts - weather and fire ban permitting that is. My apologies if I stepped on your toes.
With or without surgery, I'll only be able to come for Saturday this year and given that my N bird isn't finished yet, I won't be flying anything so the main reason I'm coming is to socialize a little and do the LCO shift.
wow! Thanks Joe for the link. I am feeling more educated already.
Howdy,
Do we have a predicted setup time, Thursday?
Not yet. The setup time will be dependent on whomever drives the trailer up. Usually it's mid afternoon on Thursday.
Looking to start field set up about noon Thursday - that is - establishing the flight line, parking line limit, spacing toilets, unloading the trailer when it gets there (who's towing?) setting the pads and fire equipement, pad numbers, PA, vendor spaces, et cetera.
