The later than usual GO notice to membership, with the real possibility of Fire Bans and the forecasted windy conditions kept many flyers away from our Memorial Day Weekend celebration at Mile High Mayhem. And in spite of all that, we had a great weekend. Fortunately, our worst weather day was Friday, when most folks are arriving and setting up for the weekend. Wind conditions on Friday were such that we never opened the range to high power flights. A total of 5 flyers launched 6 flights. The day was better spent searching the praiire and recovering previously lost rockets. Four MIA's were found and the remains were returned to their owners.
Saturday started slowly but eventually 55 different flyers put up a total of 104 flights - 70 Class One and 34 Class Two. Fog and low ceilings burned off by 9 AM and clear skies prevailed for most of the day. One window was requested, used, and closed Saturday morning, for a two stage flight that reached 27,000' and change - I don't have the exact reported altitude figure - which was successfully recovered and returned to their flight line camp within the hour. GPS on board made locating the rocket too easy.
Sunday morning provided a breath taking sunrise and the promise of a clear and calm day that only half materialized. Ground winds and the winds aloft kept the larger projects grounded but 59 different flyers managed to launch 95 flights for the day into cyrstal blue skies - 61 Class One and 34 Class Two.
Monday's weather was a better repeat of Sunday's but many had already vacated the prairie. 37 different flyers launched 64 flights - 29 Class One and 35 Class Two.
Waivered operations for the day and weekend ceased at 3 PM.

Amazing flights all weekend. I'll get launch cards posted soon. If you've got altitudes to report for inclusion, let me know. HUGE Thanks to all that helped in every capacity of range operations and the behind the scenes assistance with hospitality. It's a real priviledge to know so many great people and to fly with NCR.
Here is my flight data
L1 flight stats: 6006ft (accel), 504 MPH, 15.5 G max during motor burn
L2 flight stats: 12844ft (baro), 967 MPH, 42G max during motor burn
On the L1 flight I inadvertantly covered the pressure sensor with tape so the baro altitude was not accurate but accelerometer data should be o.k. Both of these flights compared well with the sims which were
L1 SIM: 5886ft, 518MPH, 17G
L2 SIM: 12878, 1054MPH, 38G
