Hello all,
I am still working on the motors for the Proton M and still need help with hardware. Several people offered the use of cases, I still need several 54mm 1400 cases, forward closures and snap rings. I will have new nozzles for the motors so that there will be now wear to yours. I also would like to see if there is a 75mm 6000 case and forward closure that we would use to make things go a little smoother.
If you have any of these, please let me know and what would be the best way to get the hardware from you.
Thanks
I have a 75/6000 case I would gladly donate to the project. It used to belong to John Wilke and was slightly damaged so is 1/4" shorter than factory new. I believe it only flew once.
It is 1/4 shorter overall or the snap ring to snap ring measurement is 1/4 shorter? Do you have a closure as well and how will I get it from you?
What happened was the case got dinged on the rear end, so John had it cut down and new snap ring grooves machined. I have all closures and the nozzle. I've never flown it, but John said he has and all he had to do was trim one of the stock AMW grains down by 1/4"
if it is of any help, I am in Longmont and work in Arvada. If needed, Warren could drop it off here (north side of Longmont, just off of 66) and I could take it to Arvada with me
James,
I have a 54/1400 case. I'll look to see what nozzle diameters I have.
The soonest I can get it to you is Wednesday.
Ed
I may need it Ed, I will let you know once I see Tim on Thursday. I really would like to find a 75mm 6000 case to use. I have one of my new motors in one of the cases that I need. I do not want to unload it or burn it and then clean and load it for the flight.
Warren said that we can use his but getting it before the launch will be the challenge.
I can drop it off today, later this morning. Call me, 303-823-5059. I have to head to Longmont and be back by noon or 1 at the latest.
OK - the window of opportunity is closing - I have to head to Longmont NOW. However, I'm only 25 minutes from Longmont and just 10 minutes up the canyon from Lyons. I'll be home the rest of the day. The case, closures and all the rest are set up for a quick pickup.
