Just in case you were wondering, fire conditions remain elevated and too dangerous for our planned September launch (September 10th and 11th) at the North Site on the Pawnee National Grassland, and possibly for the remainder of the year. Consider the current conditions of the vegetation on the prairie, the forecast for more hot and dry windy days and the low humidity factor. NO GO FOR Sept. 10 and 11. Red Flag Watches and Warnings have already developed. A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW....OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.
Launch opportunities are still on schedule with SCORE, at the Hudson Ranch on Saturday, September 17th and Saturday, October 1. Or make plans now to attend the Tripoli Las Vegas Oktoberfest, October 14th thru 16th, on the Jean Dry Lake Bed. http://www.tripolivegas.com/
How is it looking for Oktoberfest? I know in Fort Collins we have had minimal precipitation...
