Sean,
If you would be OK with others launching out of your tower at MHM, that would help me out. I have a 54mm K shot that needs a slick tower.

No problem, I am happy to let people use it, just got to get the brief tutorial first on how to set it up etc. We originally built it for a 54 two stage which is why its so tall. What I meant by not wanting to loan it out was to not have it in the club trailer. I like keeping it in my basement where it can stay nice and straight! I plan on showing up at MHM on Fri afternoon if that helps with your planning. -Sean
I would also like to fly a 54mm shot or two out of that tower, Sean 8) I have a couple of shots in a 100% "stock" KestreL that I want to do @ MHM - A Pro54 K300 and a Pro54 L640.
In July, I hope to fly the "tricked-out" version of a KestreL... chopped fins, shorter tube, etc. We'll see if this old dog can beat some of the younger kids in altitude, though I think a few guys (like Chad) are going to try to put things out of reach at MHM. I do have one interesting trick up my sleeve that I hope lets me gain a few feet of advantage... We will see.
I remember when 20K was first broken at the north site. I hope it happens at least a dozen times this year on KestreL flights alone... I believe the stock kit may have 24-26K in it, but we'll have to see.
Let's just say that there is a need, by certain club members, of a tight, accurate, 54mm capable tower of 12' to 16' in length. If you have one or can build one, please contact me ASAP.

John,
You are giving me too much credit. Assuming my airframe is as good as yours, my mission reliability has a long way to go.
Sean- thanks for the offer.

Are you going to use Paint?
We can leave my tower set up for 38mm shots and Sean's tower for the 54mm birds.
FYI, I plan on setting my tower up on Fri afternoon, if anyone wants an intro into how to adjust, etc with my tower Id be happy to show you on Fri. Not too complicated but I would just ask people that would like to use it to at least talk to me first so I can show you how it is designed. I plan on having it set up for a 98mm flight on Sat morning - so if anyone else is planning a 98 shot sat morning would be a great time so as to not have to do multiple adjustments. It will accomodate a 29mm to a 98mm depending on fin width. Any questions let me know as I'm happy to let others use it. -Sean
Sean, I would sure suggest you hang a note on the tower asking / suggesting / requiring folks to come see you before they tweak away. I had a tower a few years ago that was pretty well ravaged by the masses - no ill intent, just uninformed folks who wanted to fly. It is outstanding that you are sharing, and I'll be in line to use it - but make sure it doesn't end up getting converted to scrap by someone who isn't familiar with what you have there.
I have seen this tower and it is a dandy! I think those of us who use it should slip Sean a frosty beverage after the flight line closes as compensation 8)
Sean, you are bringing this to BALLS, correct?
thanks for the suggestion, I'll put a nice note on it and frosty cold beverages are always appreciated! Yes I plan on bringing it to BALLS. Depending on how tall our project ends up I may modify the tower extensions or reinforce them. -Sean
