Is it better to wire the First fires in series? At the motors.
Or a clip for each wire? Which is in series in a way.

No, don't do them in series. You should bring one wire from each igniter and twist them together, then do the same with the other wires. That way they are in parallel and you can use the same set of igniter leads as normal. I recommend allow a lot of slack with the igniter leads in case one goes a little early. Good luck.

You want them to be in parallel actually...
If they are in series, when one goes, it breaks the circuit. This results in you having a very bad day.
