I had been moving forward with getting an RRC2x mainly for air start and
or duel deployment.
With ematches and ejection canisters on hold....
What can I use for those two applications?
Will a copperhead work ?
Help 😥
An RRC2X won't help you for airstarts as it is purely a deployment altimeter. It will fire a charge at apogee and then again at a programmable altitude lower than apogee. The outputs of an RRC2X will fire e-matches, but not full blown igniters. Typically, this the ematch is used to fire a blackpowder charge.
For airstarts, you would use a timer with high current outputs, though usually airstarts are done with e-matches dipped in additional pyrogen.
Copperheads are the most useless things on the planet. I never use them except in a few small E and F motors that won't take a decent igniter.

First Fire?
With others not being available.
Nope - requires too much current. I'm sure you will be able to get some e-matches on site, though that eliminates any testing beforehand...
Mike,
In my limited experience actually doing an airstart, I'd recommend one of Missileworks Pet2 timers. I don't know what you're flying but I'd connect that to the business end of a Cessaroni motor. Those things light if you look at them cross-eyed.
Just my opinion.

As far as air-starts, ask Justin Freeberg's advice. He does it perfectly everytime. 😉
