Is the annual meeting on 1/7/12? I see there is a "?" on the launch schedule -- and it says "1/7/10?" anyway...
Apart from the incorrect year, the meeting is still scheduled for the 14th as the first Saturday of the month is usually reserved for launching. As you recall, we once upon a time launched and then met for an afternoon meeting and that just stressed too many folks out. My guess is we'll try and get a launch in on the 7th and the meeting will happen on the 14th.
I'll be out of country either way - visiting family in Costa Rica. Jon Skuba has volunteered to help run the meeting if deemed necessary to even have one.
Just a reminder that my wife will NOT be catering the annual meeting this year. We felt after 4 years that it was time for someone else to take on the task.
On a secondary note, I will be selling off essentially all of my rocketry materials. Over 60# of 29mm, 38mm and 54mm reloads. The full set of 24mm, 29mm, and 38mm AT cases with a number of extra closures including customized front and rear closures (eyebolts and boattails). A number of AT and Monster cases in 54mm. Multiple AMW 38mm, 54mm and 75mm motor cases. 3 Hypertek 54mm hybrid motors with multiple reloads and a 75mm Hypertek L motor with reload. Also at least 4 altimeters including 2 RRC2Mini's.
In addition, scads of construction materials including several brand new Performance Rocketry nose cones (38mm, 54mm and 98mm), multiple full size pieces of brand new 38mm, 54mm and 98mm convolute and filament wound tubing, many couplers, G10 fin stock and dozens of parachutes from 12" up through 72". A couple all-composite kits plus lots of hardware of various kinds including rivets, riv-nuts and tool, stainless steel eyebolts and eyenuts, range boxes with all sorts of goodies, igniters, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Finally, I am selling all my composite construction materials including 10 yards or so of 5.6oz carbon fabric, many yards of fiberglass of various weights, and my entire vacuum bagging setup including vacuum pump, hoses, bagging material, peel-ply, breather fabric, mylar release film, etc. etc.
The list is really too long to go into, but there will be some good deals available. If you're interested in any of it, please contact me via PM to get my phone number. While I'm not completely retiring from rocketry or the club, I just have so much stuff that I'm out of room to store it and due to a variety of personal and health problems (including an apparent developing epoxy allergy) it would seem my days of building rockets are at least going on hiatus for a time.
My bad for posting in the wrong forum. Warren, any way you could move this to a more appropriate slot?
When will the meeting dates be decided?
Thanks - J
The meeting date is as Joe says. My bad for not correcting it months ago. As I said at the last annual meeting, we NEED a new webmaster to manage the website.
Warren,
Say it isn't so! You can't sell all your stuff. Stay away from the epoxy to avoid the allergies, but stick to the flying!
Ed
Ed, I fly maybe once or twice a year at best lately and haven't flown anything under a K or L in 3 or 4 years. LOTS of stuff I just don't see a use for. I will be keeping enough stuff to keep flying and given that my next composite project will be an 18' Briggs style decked Dory (a boat), I've already invested in a tyvek suit, respirator and all the rest so I can do the layup on that. However, my days of laying up fin cans are numbered. Maybe one more project. We'll see who buys what and what I'm left with before I make a decision there. I do have a 98mm MD project I'm still dying to do. I have this moonburner M that I can't seem to sim below 42K and I just really want to do it. In the meantime, I need some space to build the damn boat.
