JW, I think you would be doing yourself a big favor if you were to clear a rocket, wet sand it with 2000 and buff every last millimeter of the rocket. I really think you would be making a difference by doing that.
Just my thoughts, anyone else?

agreed.. It would be a polished finish then and the air flow would be better.
HVLP is High Volume Low Presure. They normally run from about 15 to 45 psi but use about 5 to 9 CFM. Much better then a standard old style gun.

Art, I am going to try a TRA altitude attempt for the M next year at BALLS and I'd like to pull out all the stops. I'm also going to try to fly the rocket 2 or 3 times in the same day (long story) but I won't have time to wet sand it. I'd be very interested in as smooth of a finish as possible. This may be a great idea...

HVLP systems
I was checking the price on the net. hmmm
Kinda hard to spring for that when you have a compresor
and a high presure gun already on the shelf.

Wont have time to wet sand it? It wont take anymore then a day. and then polish it the next day.. And you dont need to do it between flights. Maybe just wipe it down with a spray cleaner wax. Then your good to go.
