Ive got fabric fringes hanging off the edges of my fins.
To get rid of them, I put CA on the edges and resanded with partial success. Should I do it again and again till they are gone? Will that work?
That would work with the carbon fiber, but don't expect it to work with the Kevlar. Once you've got the kevlar fuzz as small as you can make it, you would need to do an epoxy coat or something to get the fibers completely underneath the surface if you want a paintably-smooth surface. Non-sandability is a major drawback of Kevlar.
Scott, I ground my last fringes off with a handheld metal grinder. No poop. That'll do it, or just bury them, as you suggested.
I did the same thing as Bruce but it was a belt sander and you need to keep in mind the mess it will make. When it comes to FG I use a razor when the epoxy is almost cured, you can cut it right to the fin. I have not tried this with CF or KF but I do not think you will has as much luck.
