OK so its not so much a construction question as a flight question. I have an EZI65 that I hope to fly at Mayhem for my level 1 cert. I will be using an altimeter for deployment and using the surgical tube method for making my charges.
So the question is, do I just toss the charge down the body tube, or should I try to place it some where in particular? I guess I'm a bit paranoid about blowing out the wall of the body tube I just finished painting if the charge falls between the motor tube and the body.
Depends a bit on how you physically constructed things - if your ebay hangs down into the aft section, I like to tape the charge to the eyebolt so it is held away from the walls.
This is a bigger deal on thick-walled paper tubes (like LOC tubing) than it is on glass. As you might expect, phenolic is in between those extremes.
I would take measures to keep a charge away from the wall of a rocket like an EZI65 (which is a really great rocket!)
