I've been building a rocket simulation "package" from scratch (1st principles), and would like to ask for some volunteers to provide me with rocket design specifics so that I can run some sims and have you confirm whether my results are similar to what you have obtained in flight. For my designs, which are reasonably straight-forward, I have seen excellent correlation with measured results, but I would like a larger sample size if at all possible.
I can discuss the methods I am using with anyone who is curious. There is still some work to do to handle unusual nose cone designs and boattails for example, and I'm sure there are many things I have forgotten.
I got into this after some dissatisfaction with the accuracy of a common simulation package used by us rocketeers, and because I am exploring control systems for high-power rockets, am looking at different designs (such as forward fins ...) that stress existing models, and need the precision.
The simulations fairly accurately addresses base and skin friction drag, should handle wave drag for supersonic flights, and handle the dynamic aspects of acceleration in the face of reduced mass (expended fuel) and changes in atmospheric pressure during flight, among other factors.
