Conway, Like this but bigger?
Tony
You know it bro !!! Not nearly as good or as nice yours is. 😳 That takes time and practice As you said something to me about things borrowed. 😉 I always take that as a big compliment and you should as well.
I figure to start off a little longer and then trim it down as I can to get the best out of it possible. So I may get down there in length. Just not sure yet how much. Largest case will be the 98mm-17500 case. I making my tubes and stuff from glass not CF though. Still should work fairly well. No record setter like yours is. I am yet still the student and just glad that youve been kind enough to share with me. I have some more stuff to hit you up on and will give you a shout a little later.
I plan to fly mine here a little but go big at both LDRS and BALLS this year..
Happy New year Tony!!
Folks let me tell you they dont get any better at doing High Altitude stuff then Tony here does. ANYONE that wants to learn or has goals and dreams to fly'em high can do good to look and listen to what Tony does. Im even sure Mr JW will confeer!

My annual goal is to stay within 10K of Tony's best shot. This last year he recovered from 36K. I was unable to even get to 24K.
Tony has been very helpful -- no two ways about it.
I plan to step it up a bit in 2008....
Don't feel bad guys, I have a 4" MD project I just started that is designed around the M795 CTI motor that simms over 33K and another one designed around the N1100 that simms to nearly 46K. The crux will be if I can build them as light as the sim'd design is. If so, look out baby...

Conway no offense taken..Borrowed is good. I get a kick out of seeing guys using borrowed stuff from me..like Wimpy Red or my ejection charges. At night when I can't sleep I lay there thinking about how can I squeeze a few more feet out of them. Best starting advise..given to me was from Woody. Don't fly it if you can't 'afford' to lose it! Which has a few meanings to me. If you can't afford the $ loss..don't fly it. If you can't afford the emotionally...don't fly it. If you can't afford the ribbing of your peers...don't fly it. I flew a 5" min dia rocket this year at Balls..and It became misplaced. My son and I went back out to Black Rock a couple of weeks later looking for it. We spent 3 days of hard looking for it..(if your looking for some light reading on some cold Colorado night check out the story http://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?t=40353&highlight=Balls )
The reasons I looked so hard for that rocket was because I had a few new and interesting tricks and I wanted to know if they had worked or not. I biggest thing was that I wanted to know how high it really went..Because when 'chicks' ask me how high I've gone I don't want to say... it 'simm'ed to'. Did losing that rocket slow me down? Yes, some what..I need to figure out some better tracking besides my Walston. It smarted $ wise and I'm getting things replaced slowly..Thanks Santa. I am planning a 3" N that I hope to get 50K out of for Balls this year. What was the question any way?
Tony
Tony,
I have had the opportunity to read your P motor flight that was missplaced.(several times Ive gone back to it.) All I can say is Wow! I was tottally bummed as if it were mine after reading it. Some day it will turn up.
I hear you on the stuff Woody said and every bit of it true. In fact I bet ive heard him say it to me as well at one point in time. Even though losing any project is a bummer its not life ending. If you want to play you must pay is how ive always heard it and planned to play by. Losing stuff or breaking stuff or even good ribbings from your peers is all part of the game. Its the risk that we beat from time to time that makes it all worth it. I plan to do some lower poweed flights on these projects to get some good prelims done. Then turn up the heat later at BALLS this year.
3" N? Curious more swamp gas? and how long does one have to make a motor in that to be a N motor? Ive been working on a slow forumula/geometry for later use just have to do some static firing and dial it in.
The question was still what kind or how much sweet talking does a guy have to do? 😉 Feel free to hit me on email later bro..
