I plan to fly mine at MHM. I don't expect it to be competitive, but if I break 10K and get it back I will be thrilled. I'm using a PML Cirrus as a starting point and plan to make some minor modifications to it. It is my first attempt at a minimum diameter rocket so I'm not trying to be "cutting edge". I just hope to have a successful flight and learn something in the process.

That being said, I will have my $20 in at the April launch, assuming it happens as planned. A J350 on my L2 cert flight is still the biggest motor I've flown to date, so putting that in a rocket that weighs about 1/10th of what my L2 rocket did will be quite exciting. 😀

I won't be flying my SSSS or SSS this early in the year - I usually try to fly in June/July/August due to the added advantage of hotter, thinner air and less drag. Besides, I haven't even started to build them yet.

As for transmitters, I typically use the Adept in the 433Mhz band since that is what my friends have receivers and antennas for.

Doug, I'll fly one of those days... Friday if it is calm and moderately warm (and if I can get the day off) otherwise I'll do my attempt on Saturday.

This has been a dead thread of late. Any SSSS takers this weekend? As noted earlier, I'm flying on Friday or Saturday. I'll fly my J570 rocket for my SSSS, as I don't have time to put together an optimized entry.
