Congrats to David Bishop and David Bishop for winning the 2011 Contests. It was but three years ago when David was a club newbie, now he's taking down the veterans.
1MMM Contest— Three entrants. Chad Moore's rocket shredded at Mach 1.1 and was DQ'd. Bear Friedrichs had two entries that suffered fates almost as bad, and David Bishop won with a conservative and well built rocket.
Alphabet Clone— This was an exciting contest.
1) David Bishop completed H. He made 45 flights, but lost 9 to DQs, but still came out ahead.
2) Jon Skuba was perfect on his 33 flights, but was on his 5th H when the snow started to fly.
3) Bear Friedrichs kept up with the pack, making 31 flights and only losing 2 flights to DQ. He completed G.
4) Behind the main pack was Chad Moore, making 23 flights, but losing 5 flights to DQs. He completed his third F flights.
5) Scott Johnson completed D before running out of steam.
6) Dennis Billings started strong, but a worm burner DQ'd his forth E flight.
7) Mark Stombaugh made a rabbit like start late in the year, but only made it through C when winter came along.
8) Joe Hinton completed B, but graciously choose to contribute his LCO talents for most of the year.
9) Brad Morse got into the mix and finished B as well.
This was a very sporting and friendly contest, and a lot of fun!
